Speedy 25: real vs fake
The Speedy 25 is the most compact of the classic sizes and the favorite of younger buyers, so it’s faked at least as often as the 30. The rules match the Speedy 30, but on the smaller body, pattern-cutting mistakes show up even more sharply.

Pattern cutting on the small body
The 25 cm body fits fewer motifs, so the LV must sit centered on the front and edge cropping of motifs must be symmetrical. On the small size, a skewed pattern is far more obvious than on the 30.
Motif density and pitch
The 25’s canvas is the same single piece over the base with an inverted pattern on one side, but here also check the motif pitch: the compact body fits only a few rows of LVs, so a compressed or stretched print repeat shows immediately. Motifs of identical size at equal intervals are non-negotiable on an authentic bag. The rule applies to Monogram canvas; on Damier, Empreinte and limited-edition materials, go by other tells instead.
Lock scaled to the bag
The brass padlock is proportional to the body, with deep engraving and a number matching the keys. An oversized lock that looks borrowed from a 30 on a “new” bag deserves a closer look.
Bandoulière rings
The Bandoulière version has brass side rings for the detachable strap: cast, evenly polished, with even stitching on the leather anchors. A regular Speedy 25 has no rings – a “hybrid” with illogical fittings is suspicious.
Pull and zipper
House-branded brass slider, even teeth with no chips, cleanly glazed leather pull – same requirements as the Speedy 30, but on the compact zipper replica flaws stand out more.

The pattern is upside down on one side of my Speedy 25 – is it fake?
No – for a Speedy that’s normal: the one-piece rule applies to every classic size, including the 25. The small body adds its own check – with so little surface area every motif is on display, and the edge cropping of the LVs must be symmetrical. An upright pattern on both sides, or a base seam, is what should worry you.
How does authenticating a Speedy 25 differ from a Speedy 30?
The tells are the same: one-piece canvas, a lock whose number matches the keys, vachetta that patinas. The difference is scale – on 25 cm a skewed pattern and sloppy cutting are more visible, and the Bandoulière version adds side rings for the strap.
