NeoNoé: real vs fake

The NeoNoé is the modern take on the Noé bucket bag, designed in 1932 to carry champagne bottles. Replicas most often stumble on the drawstring, the two-compartment interior, and the contrast trim – three things the vintage Noé never had.

What to check on the NeoNoé

Model-specific zones – on top of the brand-level signs.

Drawstring

The leather drawstring with neatly glazed tips is even along its full length with no crimping, and cinches the opening evenly all the way around. Eyelets are clean and symmetrically placed. A crumpled, uneven cord and crooked eyelets are typical replica slips.

Two-compartment divider

Inside, the NeoNoé (unlike the vintage Noé) has a soft divider splitting the bag into two compartments. Its absence in a bag sold as a NeoNoé is a red flag.

Contrast trim

The colored trim, drawstring, and lining come in specific factory colorways. An off-palette acid shade, or trim and cord that don’t match each other, means the combination should be checked against official releases.

Bucket geometry

The body holds a cylindrical shape with an even round base: the bag stands upright without tipping. An oval, crumpled base is a cheap-replica giveaway.

Adjustable shoulder strap

The strap has a buckle adjuster: the buckle is cast, holes are punched cleanly, and the strap edges are glazed to match the body trim color.

The difference is in the details – drag the slider

Typical differences in workmanship: stitching consistency, edge finishing, detail quality. Left – factory quality, right – common replica flaws.

Macro detail of an item: clean factory workmanship – even stitching, tidy edges Authentic

The flaws are shown deliberately large and obvious so they read at a glance: on a good replica the same differences can be far subtler, so "mine is not this bad" does not by itself mean "authentic". In the app, the AI inspects these same zones on your photos.

FAQ

How is the NeoNoé different from the vintage Noé?

The NeoNoé is a reissue of the 1932 design: it adds an interior two-compartment divider, contrast trim, and a modern lining, with more compact proportions. Classic Noé tells (a single open compartment, vachetta trim) don’t apply to the NeoNoé.

There’s no divider inside my bag – is it fake?

If the bag is sold as a NeoNoé – yes, that’s a red flag: the two-compartment divider is part of the design. Vintage Noé and Noé BB bags came without one, but those are different models with different tells.
